Tree of Life

Friday, June 10th, 2011

I’m so excited to introduce you to our newest wedding stationery design – Tree of Life. I was inspired by all those gorgeous bohemian brides having beautiful outdoor ceremonies under huge trees. This stationery suite has an earthy feel and combines images of scrolls, birds and, of course, a beautiful leaf-filled tree. For those of you wanting an eco-friendly wedding we can also print this stationery on recylced card!

Real Wedding – Natalia & Michael

Friday, April 29th, 2011

It was an absolute delight to work on this gorgeous wedding and it is a pleasure to share it with you.

Natalia and Michael invited family and friends to “a very important date” as they tied the knot on November 26th 2010 at the ‘Lindenderry’ at Red Hill, in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula .

So much effort went into all the details of this gorgeous wedding that it was featured in the Winter 2011 issue of The Knot magazine!

Natalia and Michael’s wedding day had a whimsical ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme running through it, which they used our ‘Isabella’ stationery, with a few modifications, to invite their guests and set the tone.

The envelopes asked guests to “open me” inside which held a stationery set consisting of invitation, direction card and map and wishing well card, all held together with a belly band which stated “a very important date…”. I loved their dress code which was ‘gorgeous and whimsical’ for the ladies and for the gentlemen ‘mad hat optional’.

Natalia and Michael worked with the talented stylist Michelle Gange from Prestige Parties to bring together a wonderful whimsical wedding with so many creative and special touches that honestly made me sigh! From the  directional sign which directed their guests to “the wedding, the hotel, the tea party and the rabbit hole” to the stunning “tea party” reception decorated with beautiful vintage tea cups and English garden flowers, the “Alice in Wonderland” theme was covered in a stylish and sophisticated yet fun-filled way.

Natalia said “the highlight of the day for me, was walking down the amazing aisle with my father, in the distance I could see all the people who had helped to shape the person that I am today and my future husband  just ahead”.

Wedding Parasol

The fun and warmth Natalia and Michael shared with their guests was shown in details like the guests being welcomed to the reception with a seating chart that told them that “…you’re all late to tea”, guest’s ‘welcome kits’,  with a reminder that “we’re all mad here” and a wedding video put together for the bride and groom, “by all their mad friends”. Such delightful ways to join everyone in on the fun of the theme.

Wedding Table Setting

I really love the thought that was put into the gifts for the guests. All the men received a pack of vintage playing cards which were wrapped and finished with a bomboniere tag by Poppiseed Designs, which read a quote by Alice “you’re nothing but a pack of cards!” and the women received some ‘Queens Tea’ whose tag included the quote  “would you like a little more tea” – Mad Hatter.

Wedding Reception

Natalia expressed her joy about her amazing day by saying “This was the Wonderland of mine (and Alice’s) dreams, mad  guests who helped to create beautiful memories, upside down vintage tea cups and saucers,  whimsical butterflies and violins, sunshine and a misty evening, a fabulous tea party with just the right pinch of silliness…. lets just say neither of us were keen to go home this time.”

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

I am so pleased to introduce our latest stationery design Polkadottie to our store! I have created this fun, red and blue polka dot inspired wedding inspiration board to show the kind of wedding I had in mind when designing this suite.

It is all about a fun wedding day filled with quirky and playful accessories with a retro vintage flavour!

Vintage Lace

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

This inspiration board was created around our ‘Vintage Lace‘ wedding invitation, which I thought suited a vintage inspired summer afternoon wedding glowing in a palette of sage green, tangerine orange, peach and cream. Imagine a warm summer afternoon filled with wide brimmed hats, the clinking of glasses and a game of croquet. I love the idea of a lavish dinning table and chairs setup in a country style garden where an afternoon gathering could turn into a romantic night with the addition of some lanterns and fairy lights hanging in trees.

French Romance

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

One of my favourite wedding themes at the moment is the beautiful and romantic french provincial wedding. Our latest stationery designs ‘Isabella‘ has been inspired by vintage birdcages and decorative details that adorn a french wedding. Think vintage lace, chandeliers, vintage brooches, birdcages, fancy script fonts, draping material, ornate frames…with all these gorgeous items you will leave your guests drooling!

Juliet

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

If you love the ever popular vintage style wedding why not choose the ‘Juliet‘ wedding invitation which sets the tone for a shabby chic style wedding with its elegant, pretty and romantic  style. Combine with a vintage style dress and antique style flowers to match. The wonderful thing about this kind of wedding is that you can save plenty of money by scouring charity shops and garage sales for interesting ‘old style’ accessories to finish the overall look off.

One Invite – Endless Options!

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

At Poppiseed Designs we recognise that everyone has their own individual style and taste and this is no more apparent then at their wedding.  We endevour to have a large range of wedding invitations and update our range regularly, but we can never have the perfect invitation for everyone. For this reason we are happy to be flexible with our designs and have a colour chart available with a large range of colour options in which our invitations can be printed. We also have a font list available to help find the perfect matching font to go with the style.

One invitation we have found to be very popular and very regularly requested in another colour is our ‘Fiorella‘ design. So I thought we might put together some colour inspiration boards to demonstrate how one of our invitations can easily altered to suit so many different wedding styles.
