Tangerine Tango

Friday, January 6th, 2012

Last year the colour was ‘Honeysuckle’, this year Pantone has announced ‘Tangerine Tango’ as the colour of the year for 2012. Described as a spirited reddish orange, it is definitely a vibrant colour and has a real ‘wow’ factor to it. I will be interested to see if it’s popularity grows over the year as brides-to-be look for something new and fresh to add to their weddings.

Tangerine can be used as a pop of colour against neutrals, camel and greys for a warm, subtle effect. I loved this gorgeous inspiration found on Green Wedding Shoes for a winter wedding. You can find more stunning pictures from this shoot here – Winter wedding ideas – Snowed In.

I love this combination of tangerine and tiffany blue I saw on Style me Pretty, very pretty and sophisticated.

You could either opt for tangerine bridemaids dresses or maybe go for neutral dresses and a splash of orange in the bouquets.

As for wedding stationery, Poppiseed Designs has many designs that would look great in tangerine!

Colour Inspirations – Purple & Bright Green

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

It is not the first colour combination that springs to mind, but there is something very alluring about the delicious deep purple tones with a splash of fresh, bright green. The key to making this combination work is using a blend of purple tones rather than one flat purple colour with just a touch of bright green to make the final result really pop!
