Aqua and Mint Wedding

Friday, December 2nd, 2011

There is an old saying “blue and green should never be seen”, but I don’t believe that at all!

Blue and green seem to be the colour of the moment as we have been sending out so many invitations in different shades of these colours. From sage and sea green to aqua and baby blue, they are definitely the most popular colours chosen for invitations right now.

When grouping a few of the different blue and green invitations together, they looked so pretty and complimented each other so well that I felt inspired to create an inspiration board based on a blue and green wedding. I love the effect of combining soft and bright blues along with sage, mint and sea green. This colour palette is so pretty and fresh, it just makes me think of cool summer breezes and after dinner mints!

Kensington Colours

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

It is so much fun to see how little changes of colour or fonts can give the same invitation design a whole new flavour. Our Kensington wedding stationery suite has been very popular lately and it is lovely to see the different ways it can be changed to suit different wedding styles.

One couple requested to have their Kensington stationery suite printed on a recycled card to give it an earthy look. It was printed in chocolate brown on our flecked Bier Weizen recycled card.

Another couple wanted to incorporate a border into their design and we also ended up adding two little flying birds, which was a really sweet little touch. They also had the colour changed to a navy blue to suit their wedding colours.

So there you have the same invitation suite, but two different looks acheived with simple changes of colour, fonts and card.

Colour Changes

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

I always enjoy seeing how different one of our invitations can look by just simply changing the colours. Colours can change the whole feel of a piece of stationery. We include colour changes to most of our invitation ranges, as a free service, to encourage our couples to create an invitation that suits their wedding perfectly.

Here are a couple of colour changes we have made for some recent customers that made the invitations uniquely theirs.

This is our Mary-Jane wedding invitation printed in our blue C37.

This is our Pink Peony wedding stationery in sage green C47 and caramel brown C50 text.

This is our Newbury engagement invitation printed as a wedding invitation in black and pink C23. I also created additional stationery items to match like wishing well cards and table numbers.

If you would like any further information on colour changes to our stationery please contact us.

Lollipops and Polka Dots!

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

I am so pleased to introduce our latest stationery design Polkadottie to our store! I have created this fun, red and blue polka dot inspired wedding inspiration board to show the kind of wedding I had in mind when designing this suite.

It is all about a fun wedding day filled with quirky and playful accessories with a retro vintage flavour!

Colour Inspirations – Navy Blue and Crisp White

Monday, January 17th, 2011

This inspiration board was inspired by an intricate patterned china tea cup in the bold colours of white and navy blue. This colour palette may be simple, but it is definitely elegant. There is something timeless and classic about a strong deep navy blue paired with crisp snow white.

For a daytime wedding use white as the main colour with a splash of navy blue to complement it and for an evening wedding you can use navy as the more dominant colour with white touches throughout.

Incorporate navy blue into your wedding with a pair of gorgeous navy blue shoes poking out from beneath your white wedding dress, a table setting of mismatched blue and white china or bridesmaids dressed in various shades of dark blue.

Real Wedding – Camille & Barry

Monday, March 15th, 2010

The lovely Camille and Barry celebrated their stunning garden wedding in November 2009 and I have some of their beautiful photos to share with you. They had a small intimate wedding at a heritage listed homestead – Faversham Homestead, in Mundaring Perth.

Camille and Barry came to us last year searching for their perfect wedding invitation and could not quite find the right thing on our website, so they approached us to create a custom design. They decided on midnight blue for the bridesmaids dresses and wanted to carry that colour through to their wedding stationery, which was to have a formal, garden wedding theme.

Camille and Barry had us use their design to create a seating chart which they had beautifully framed and positioned on a stand for guests to see where they were to be seated.

They also wanted to have a three sided menu / table number which was to sit on each table – one side had the table names, which were all creatively named after flowers, another side had the menu selection and the other had the guests names seated on that table.

Individually named bomboniere boxes were presented on the tables for each guest.

Camille and Barry told us “We loved every single moment of the day and spent the whole day laughing.”

Congratulations Camille and Barry on a stunning wedding day, thank you so much for sharing it with us!

One Invite – Endless Options!

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

At Poppiseed Designs we recognise that everyone has their own individual style and taste and this is no more apparent then at their wedding.  We endevour to have a large range of wedding invitations and update our range regularly, but we can never have the perfect invitation for everyone. For this reason we are happy to be flexible with our designs and have a colour chart available with a large range of colour options in which our invitations can be printed. We also have a font list available to help find the perfect matching font to go with the style.

One invitation we have found to be very popular and very regularly requested in another colour is our ‘Fiorella‘ design. So I thought we might put together some colour inspiration boards to demonstrate how one of our invitations can easily altered to suit so many different wedding styles.
