Real Wedding – Clare & Jason

Friday, December 11th, 2009

I have the pleasure of sharing a simply stunning wedding we were fortunate enough to print the stationery for. Clare and Jason celebrated their wedding in October this year at the beautiful heritage-listed Silvermere in the Blue Mountains. They chose to invite their guests to a beautiful garden wedding with invitations from our Lilianna range.

The very talented Gemma Clarke captured the beautiful moments of  Clare and Jason’s special day.

Juliet

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

If you love the ever popular vintage style wedding why not choose the ‘Juliet‘ wedding invitation which sets the tone for a shabby chic style wedding with its elegant, pretty and romantic  style. Combine with a vintage style dress and antique style flowers to match. The wonderful thing about this kind of wedding is that you can save plenty of money by scouring charity shops and garage sales for interesting ‘old style’ accessories to finish the overall look off.

One Invite – Endless Options!

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

At Poppiseed Designs we recognise that everyone has their own individual style and taste and this is no more apparent then at their wedding.  We endevour to have a large range of wedding invitations and update our range regularly, but we can never have the perfect invitation for everyone. For this reason we are happy to be flexible with our designs and have a colour chart available with a large range of colour options in which our invitations can be printed. We also have a font list available to help find the perfect matching font to go with the style.

One invitation we have found to be very popular and very regularly requested in another colour is our ‘Fiorella‘ design. So I thought we might put together some colour inspiration boards to demonstrate how one of our invitations can easily altered to suit so many different wedding styles.

Cherry Blossom Wedding Theme

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

With all the beautiful cherry blossoms on display at the moment I was inspired to put together a post on a cherry blossom themed wedding. Imagine being joined in marriage beneath the delicate blossoming trees, followed with a romantic garden reception decorated with paper laterns and hand fans as guests sip on fresh guava and lime cocktails.

A Little Birdie Told Me…

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Poppiseed Designs loves using nature as an inspiration for our stationery designs and our latest addition “Little Wren” wedding invitation is no exception. Whether you use birds as an entire theme for your wedding or just have a suggestion of them throughout your day, they will add a quaint touch of romance and nature. The bird theme can be used on the wedding cake, as place card holders, wedding favours and of course your stationery.

Here is our latest wedding invitation “Little Wren“, which incorporates delicate pink blossoms and a quaint little wren on a branch.

Little Wren Wedding Invitation

We love these lyrics from Lullaby of Birdland – maybe they could be incorporated into your wedding stationery.

“Lullaby of Birdland, whisper low,
Kiss me sweet, and we’ll go
Flyin’ high in Birdland,
High in the sky up above,
All because we’re in love.”

Hopefully the following will inspire you, as it did us and let your imagination take flight!

My heart is like a singing bird
Whose nest is in a watered shoot:
My heart is like an apple tree
Whose boughs are bent with thickset fruit;
My heart is like a rainbow shell
That paddles in a halycon sea;
My heart is gladder than all these
Because my love is come to me.

Peony Princess

Monday, June 1st, 2009

There is something so classically romantic about the gorgeous flower – the peony. This wedding inspiration board is all about the peony and the sweet colour palette of dusty pink. Perfect for any season, you can make your wedding ooze romance and style with this delectable theme. Check out our Pink Peony wedding invitation, which combines a beautiful ornate pink peony with the subtleness of grey.

Natures Magic

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

I just love the honesty of nature, and what better place to exchange your wedding vows. Whether it be in a rustic pine forest or a manicured botanical garden there is definately something sweet and alluring about a wedding set amongst mother nature. Our latest wedding invitation ‘Kensington’ was designed with an outdoor wedding in mind. With it’s simple, understated design of a single tree it aims to convey the charm of the outdoor wedding.

The following images provided us with some wonderful inspiration when designing this invitation.

This shot was found on the Centennial Parklands website. It is a popular choice for wedding photography, providing a great range of versatile locations and is only 10 minutes from Sydney’s central business district.

Romantic Winter

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

The winter chills have set in early this year and was the basis for this inspiration board all about the winter wedding. Winter weddings do not have to be stark and cold, warm it up with a soft palette of whites and browns using feathers, twigs and lace which will leave your guests feeling all warm fuzzy. The romantic patterned Maddison invitation is ideal to set the tone for a romantic and heartfelt winter wedding day.

A Black Tie Event

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

If you are wanting to create a formal and sophisticated wedding then a black and white theme may just be what you are looking for. The stark contrast of the dark black against the pure white creates a very bold statement and can be quite easy to acheive. Combining different textures and patterns makes sure the theme doesn’t get too stark and boring. I love the glamorous feel beautiful black and white floral and damask patterns create, which was the inspiration for our lastest wedding stationery range ‘Avalon‘. Below are a few items that would work beautifully with our ‘Avalon‘ stationery.
