January 6th, 2012Last year the colour was ‘Honeysuckle’, this year Pantone has announced ‘Tangerine Tango’ as the colour of the year for 2012. Described as a spirited reddish orange, it is definitely a vibrant colour and has a real ‘wow’ factor to it. I will be interested to see if it’s popularity grows over the year as brides-to-be look for something new and fresh to add to their weddings.
Tangerine can be used as a pop of colour against neutrals, camel and greys for a warm, subtle effect. I loved this gorgeous inspiration found on Green Wedding Shoes for a winter wedding. You can find more stunning pictures from this shoot here – Winter wedding ideas – Snowed In.
I love this combination of tangerine and tiffany blue I saw on Style me Pretty, very pretty and sophisticated.

Aqua and Mint Wedding
December 2nd, 2011There is an old saying “blue and green should never be seen”, but I don’t believe that at all!
Blue and green seem to be the colour of the moment as we have been sending out so many invitations in different shades of these colours. From sage and sea green to aqua and baby blue, they are definitely the most popular colours chosen for invitations right now.
When grouping a few of the different blue and green invitations together, they looked so pretty and complimented each other so well that I felt inspired to create an inspiration board based on a blue and green wedding. I love the effect of combining soft and bright blues along with sage, mint and sea green. This colour palette is so pretty and fresh, it just makes me think of cool summer breezes and after dinner mints!

Kensington Colours
August 25th, 2011It is so much fun to see how little changes of colour or fonts can give the same invitation design a whole new flavour. Our Kensington wedding stationery suite has been very popular lately and it is lovely to see the different ways it can be changed to suit different wedding styles.
One couple requested to have their Kensington stationery suite printed on a recycled card to give it an earthy look. It was printed in chocolate brown on our flecked Bier Weizen recycled card.
Another couple wanted to incorporate a border into their design and we also ended up adding two little flying birds, which was a really sweet little touch. They also had the colour changed to a navy blue to suit their wedding colours.
So there you have the same invitation suite, but two different looks acheived with simple changes of colour, fonts and card.

August 16th, 2011Our wonderful stockist, Prior Engagement has done it again and had some of our invitations featured in the gorgeous Real Weddings magazine. This magazine is simply gorgeous from cover to end and I recommend it as a good read to any bride to be.
Our Pink Peony invitation was featured in the ‘floral delights’ page and our Polkadottie invitation was featured in the ‘rustic charm’ page.
Tree of Life
June 10th, 2011I’m so excited to introduce you to our newest wedding stationery design – Tree of Life. I was inspired by all those gorgeous bohemian brides having beautiful outdoor ceremonies under huge trees. This stationery suite has an earthy feel and combines images of scrolls, birds and, of course, a beautiful leaf-filled tree. For those of you wanting an eco-friendly wedding we can also print this stationery on recylced card!

Real Wedding – Elizabeth & Clive
June 6th, 2011The lovely Elizabeth & Clive tied the knot back in August last year at St. Peter & Paul’s Catholic Church, Balbriggan. They chose to our Love Story wedding invitation, which matched perfectly with Elizabeth’s soft rose bouquet, and carried the theme through the entire day with a range of matching stationery items like place cards, order of service booklets and bomboniere boxes. NEW – Boxed Party Invitations
May 17th, 2011We are so excited here at Poppiseed Designs to be launching our boxed sets of fill-in party invitations!
Along with a re-vamp of our website we have an exciting new range of children’s party invitations. We have aimed for fun, modern and quirky designs and our range includes party themes like dinosaurs, outerspace, ballerinas and ludybugs. They are printed on high quality linen card, with rounded corners and come packaged in a box along with envelopes. There is also matching swing tags that can be added to lolly bags or gifts to continue the theme throughout the party.
One of my favourite girls party invitation is our Cupcake Dreams invitation, featuring yummy cupcakes floating away on polkadot hot air balloons – it is so sweet and dreamy.
